Vascular Treatment with MaxG: Before & After Photos and Review

This post covers vascular treatment using MaxG.

The absorbance graph shown here is one we refer to regularly. The green curve labeled LuxG corresponds to the same wavelength profile as MaxG. Unlike standard IPL devices, MaxG emits light in two wavelength bands: 500–670 nm and 870–1200 nm. (Conventional IPL systems either use a cut-off filter to remove shorter wavelengths and deliver up to 1200 nm, or select only a narrow wavelength range. MaxG uses a dual filter to emit two distinct wavelength bands.)

The 500–670 nm band has high absorbance for hemoglobin and melanin.

The 870–1200 nm band has high absorbance for hemoglobin and methemoglobin.

As a result, MaxG is effective for vascular treatment — particularly for patients with fair skin who have prominent visible vessels.

In the photo, on the left side (which is the patient's right side in real life), a relatively red and thick blood vessel is visible around the mid-nasolabial fold area. This photo was taken in August 2016.

For vascular treatment, sessions are generally recommended at 2–4 week intervals. In this case, a total of 7 sessions were performed approximately one month apart.

The vascular area was treated exclusively with MaxG, while laser toning and MaxG were used together across the full face. Midway through the treatment course, dermatoxin and ultrasound lifting (Doublo) were also performed.

The previously prominent vessel has faded to the point where it is barely visible, and overall skin tone has brightened while facial elasticity has also improved noticeably.

These photos show the patient 7 months apart. The vascular treatment result is clearly visible, and the overall skin tone is brighter with improved elasticity, giving a noticeably more youthful appearance.

The patient reported high satisfaction. ^^
