HIFU (Neothera), RevLite Toning & MaxG Laser: A Doctor's Self-Treatment Log
A clinic doctor shares her regular self-treatment routine combining Neothera HIFU, RevLite laser toning, and MaxG pigmentation treatment at Dayone Clinic.
I've been keeping up with self-treatments consistently, but February has been extremely busy with a high volume of patients, so I haven't been able to post as regularly. π’
I'm only now writing about procedures I had done two weeks ago.
Most of the time I squeeze treatments in during my lunch break, but that was basically impossible during this hectic February β so I actually came into the clinic on a Sunday to get everything done.
Among the treatments I make a point of doing on a regular cycle (HIFU, toning, injection treatments, Fraxel, etc.), the one I absolutely never skip is HIFU β specifically Neothera.

The photo above shows Dr. TNF giving herself a self-treatment while lying down.
I've talked about Neothera before, and I'll write a more detailed post about how it works and its effects at some point soon.
In brief, it uses ultrasound energy to firm the SMAS layer.
Depth can be adjusted to 4.5 mm or 3.0 mm β depending on the depth selected, the target can be the dermis layer or the SMAS layer.
From my experience using Neothera, it also appears to affect the fat layer, so I often recommend it to patients with fuller cheeks or a double chin.
Reducing fat volume first with lipolytic injections and then adding firmness with an HIFU treatment like Neothera tends to yield high satisfaction.
When I have enough time to treat myself, I'll do it once a week, but in most cases I do it consistently every two to three weeks.
Sitting in front of a mirror is more comfortable, but because of the small risk of a burn, I do it lying down when treating myself.
On this particular day I used only the 3.0 mm tip for about 500 shots.
Usually I finish with 200β300 shots using the 4.5 mm tip, but that day I just felt like using the 3.0 mm tip exclusively.
I have some facial asymmetry β my left side has a bit more volume β and I'd been bothered by my double chin area.
After keeping up with Neothera regularly, I feel the asymmetry has improved noticeably and the double-chin line looks much more defined than before.
(In a previous treatment diary I posted before-and-after jawline photos from Neothera, and the difference is quite clear when you compare them.)
Since I was already at the clinic on Sunday, I also combined RevLite laser toning and MaxG (pigmentation treatment) in the same session.
I aim to do pigmentation treatments at least once every three to four weeks, and RevLite toning at least once every two weeks β though it isn't always easy to fit into my schedule. I still manage to do it from time to time.
We recently added a Janus skin diagnostic device to the clinic (I'll post about that soon as well).
When you look at photos taken under its UV light, dermal-layer pigmentation becomes strikingly visible.
To the naked eye my skin doesn't look particularly pigmented, but the UV images show a significant amount of pigmentation in the dermal layer β meaning it could migrate to the surface at any time, so I always stay on guard and keep up with RevLite toning.
With that in mind, on this day I combined RevLite toning, which helps improve dermal pigmentation, with MaxG, which is effective for redness and superficial epidermal blemishes.
And I'm still keeping up with my injection treatments regularly.
Melsmon (placenta extract injection) every two to three days, and glutathione (commonly called the 'White Jade injection') one to two times a week.
I never expected to become such a fan of injection treatmentsβ¦ π
